F1, through an official statement, has announced the renewal of the Dutch Grand Prix for the next two seasons, after which it will leave the calendar.

The Dutch Grand Prix will remain on the Formula 1 calendar until 2026, after which it will exit. This morning, Formula 1 issued the official announcement, confirming that the Zandvoort circuit will feature for the next two seasons before it departs after just six editions.

F1, OFFICIAL: The renewal of the Dutch Grand Prix until 2026, after which it will leave the calendar.

In Formula 1’s official statement, it reads:“Formula 1 and the promoter of the Dutch Grand Prix have announced a one-year contract extension that will see Circuit Zandvoort remain on the Formula 1 calendar until the 2026 season. After much consideration and discussion, the promoter has decided not to continue after 2026. Recent years have seen great excitement at the Dutch Grand Prix, following the long hiatus of racing in the Netherlands.”

The 2026 edition, the last under the contract, will feature the Sprint format: “The return of the Dutch Grand Prix in 2021 coincided with a period of dominance by local hero Max Verstappen, who has won the race three times and was crowned world champion in each of the four editions held so far. In 2025, the event will take place from August 29 to 31. The date for the final 2026 event, which will include a Sprint for the first time at the Dutch Grand Prix, will be announced next year. Ticket sales for the 2025 race are already underway, with ticket information for the final 2026 event to follow.”

Stefano Domenicali‘s words: “I am incredibly grateful for the work done by the team at the Dutch Grand Prix in recent years. They have raised the bar for European Grands Prix in terms of spectacle and entertainment, supported the development of young talents by hosting F2, F3, and our F1 ACADEMY series, and also came up with sustainable solutions that have inspired our events worldwide as we head towards our Net Zero target by 2030.

All parties have worked positively to find a solution to extend the race, with many options, including alternating or annual events, on the table, and we respect the promoter’s decision to conclude its incredible run in 2026. I want to thank the entire Dutch Grand Prix team and the Municipality of Zandvoort, who have been fantastic partners for Formula 1.”

Robert van Overdijk, Director of the Dutch Grand Prix, stated:: “The Dutch Grand Prix is the result of a unique collaboration between SportVibes, TIG Sports, and Circuit Zandvoort, who shared the ambition of bringing the race back to the Netherlands. What we have achieved so far is undoubtedly a huge success. The appreciation from our visitors, drivers, and teams has been unprecedented, and we are incredibly proud of that.

Although today’s announcement marks the end of a monumental era, we are confident that fans still have much to look forward to at the 2025 and 2026 Dutch Grands Prix, including the 2026 Sprint. We are a private company, privately run, and must balance the opportunities presented by continuing to host the event with other risks and responsibilities. We have decided to go out on a high with two more incredible Dutch Grands Prix in 2025 and 2026.

We wanted to take this step while our event is beloved and supported by passionate fans, residents, and the Formula 1 community. I want to thank Stefano Domenicali and the entire Formula 1 team for the hard work that saw multiple contract extensions and the Dutch Grand Prix become such a success.”
