The great balance on track during the 2024 Formula 2 season has given us a unique statistic in motorsport.

In the final round in Qatar, Paul Aron claimed his first Formula 2 victory, capping off an excellent debut season with 4 pole positions and 7 podiums. However, this win was also significant for another reason: all 11 teams secured at least one victory during the 2024 Formula 2 season.

The year 2024 marked a significant regulatory change: to make the category increasingly similar to and preparatory for Formula 1, Dallara, as the sole supplier, developed an evolution of the chassis to bring it closer to those used in Formula 1..

All 11 teams with at least one win: Taylor Barnard secures AIX Racing’s first triumph in Formula 2.

This regulatory change also led to a leveling of performance, and as expected, the 2024 season showcased great balance on track. Consider that the most competitive teams from the previous season, namely ART and Prema, often struggled to secure points finishes in the early races of the season.

Let’s go back to the Feature Race in Qatar: Paul Aron delivered Hitech‘s first win of the season. Despite being in sixth place in the constructors’ standings, Hitech was the only team in 2024 that had not yet claimed the top step of the podium.

All 11 teams with at least one win: let’s go through them all.

In the opening round in Bahrain, we saw a Rodin double with Zane Maloney dominating both the Sprint Race and the Feature Race. In Jeddah, the disqualification of Trident’s Richard Verschoor in the Sprint Race handed the victory to Dennis Hauger of MP Motorsport, while in the Feature Race, it was Enzo Fittipaldi, now with Van Amersfoort, who took control and claimed the win.

In the third round of the season in Melbourne, Roman Stanek, driving for Trident, secured his first career victory in Formula 2, while Isack Hadjar began his title chase in the Feature Race. The French driver from Campos would later repeat his success in the Imola Feature Race. Meanwhile, in the Sprint Race, Franco Colapinto, driving for MP Motorsport, began his upward trajectory with a stunning move at the Tamburello chicane, overtaking Paul Aron on the final lap.

Franco Colapinto secured his first Formula 2 victory in Imola, three months before the start of his Formula 1 adventure.

The Monaco circuit was the setting for several firsts: Taylor Barnard, driving for AIX Racing, took advantage of the reversed grid to claim victory in the Sprint Race. In the Feature Race, a Virtual Safety Car in the penultimate lap allowed Zak O’Sullivan of ART to make a pit stop and secure the win. In the following round in Barcelona, his teammate Victor Martins won the Sprint Race, while the Feature Race saw a strong performance from DAMS, with Jak Crawford finishing first and Juan Manuel Correa taking third.

In Spielberg, Ollie Bearman finally secured his first win of the season, after a difficult start for the entire Prema team. Meanwhile, in the Feature Race, Gabriel Bortoleto of Invicta Racing crossed the finish line first. Prema repeated its success in Silverstone, with Andrea Kimi Antonelli claiming his first victory in the pouring rain, while Isack Hadjar triumphed once again in the Feature Race.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli secured his first Formula 2 victory, and in 2025, he will be behind the wheel of a Mercedes in Formula 1.

By mid-season, 10 out of 11 teams had already claimed at least one win, with Hitech being the only team still absent from the top step of the podium. Now, with Paul Aron’s victory in the Feature Race at Lusail, we can say that the 2024 Formula 2 season has given us a curious statistic: all 11 teams have secured at least one victory.
