Cadillac, Andretti: “Ours is a ten-year project, we want to be competitive.”

Mario Andretti, a member of the internal board of the new Cadillac team, gave an interesting interview to the magazine Autosprint.

Cadillac, Andretti: “Ours is a ten-year project, we want to be competitive.”

The former Ferrari driver expressed enthusiasm about the recent developments, a milestone that once seemed unattainable. He said: “They asked me to stay, and I am happy to do so. Regarding General Motors‘ commitment, he added:“When I told you that, for me, this is practically a lifelong commitment, I wasn’t joking. What I mean is that GM is committed for at least ten years. So, this is not an exploratory or experimental program; it is just the beginning of a long and steady focus, within which GM itself will provide absolutely everything needed to make the team strong and competitive, given the level of the challenge.”

It’s no secret that Andretti is pushing for a Ferrari power unit in 2026-2027. Here’s what he said about it: “It’s all true. First of all, I think the Ferrari power unit represents the best you can find for a team looking for an engine, and, equally, there’s also an important emotional factor for me. Because my history with the Maranello team…”
