Piastri posted the best time in the third and final free practice session, with qualifying starting at 3 PM.
The third and final free practice session of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has just concluded. McLaren remains on top, and unless a major surprise from others, they are already reserving the pole position: Oscar Piastri in first place, with Lando Norris just behind him, separated by almost two-tenths.
The session only heated up at the end, with Lewis Hamilton finishing in third place, nearly four-tenths off the top spot. Behind him is Max Verstappen. And Ferrari? Another challenging session for the Scuderia, with Sainz in fifth place (438 thousandths off the top) while Leclerc is only ninth, almost seven-tenths behind. In between, we find George Russell‘s Mercedes and the two Haas cars, with Hulkenberg ahead of Magnussen by just one thousandth.
In the battle for sixth place in the Constructors’ Championship, the American team is performing better than Alpine, which has Gasly and Doohan in twelfth and thirteenth positions. Also towards the back is Perez, who finished in tenth place; the Mexican is reportedly parting ways with Red Bull according to several sources. Setbacks also for Aston Martin, with Alonso and Stroll in the last positions.
It was a good third session for Tsunoda and Albon, who finished in eleventh and twelfth place, respectively. As for qualifying, the appointment is at 3 PM.
