The project conceived by Michael Andretti has officially changed its name to Cadillac Formula Racing.
Now, the official announcement has arrived: The name of the new team entering Formula 1 in 2026 will be Cadillac Formula Racing. The American team will join the F1 grid in two years, but it is already working hard to be competitive from the start, especially with the upcoming regulatory changes.
In recent days, the official announcement of the partnership with Ferrari regarding the engine has arrived, while in England, the technical department is already working in detail, seeking initial feedback with materials and innovations for 2026.
The sports management has been entrusted to Graeme Lowdon, former Team Principal of Marussia, while Ferrari will also supply transmission equipment and some adjustments in the car’s components. The collaboration with the Scuderia from Maranello is expected to last for two seasons, as Cadillac is set to be equipped with a General Motors engine by 2028.
An innovative and important project, therefore, awaits the American team, which will need to pay 450 million dollars to the existing F1 teams to secure approval for its entry into the F1 Circus.
