Frederic Vasseur offered the first hints about the upcoming Ferrari: “In Formula 1, performing well doesn’t necessarily mean winning.”
After the disappointment of losing the 2024 championship, despite a surprisingly strong finish to the season, Ferrari is now looking ahead to 2025. This season will mark the arrival of seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton at Maranello after a remarkable 26-year partnership with Mercedes.
In an interview with La Stampa, Frederic Vasseur shared his thoughts on the upcoming Formula 1 season: “I would bet on Ferrari,” the Draveil-born team principal confidently stated.
Vasseur: “The Ferrari 677 has had a strong start, but…”
He continued: “We know our rivals; Red Bull and McLaren are incredibly strong. But on paper, our car for 2025 looks very good. In Formula 1, though, everything is relative, and performing well doesn’t necessarily mean being ahead of your competitors.”
Vasseur also commented on Ferrari’s new arrivals: “Loïc Serra has integrated fantastically, as has Jérôme D’Ambrosio, who will be my deputy. I’ve known Jérôme since our Formula Renault days, and both will play key roles in our improvement” , he concluded.
