There is an enormous amount of talent and passion here, and anyone would be lucky to work alongside you. I hope that once I stop racing, I can come back here and relive the great memories with you.

No driver has ever had such a long and successful experience with a single team, and that makes my goodbye even harder. You have been part of my dream, and I hope I’ve been part of yours as well. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, to all of you and also on behalf of my family, for the commitment and dedication you’ve shown over the years.”

The future Ferrari driver then added: “Mercedes has changed my life. I never imagined working with so many incredible people, who have accompanied me on this amazing journey, helping me achieve so many successes. I will continue to follow you, keeping an eye on the monitors, and will always wish you the best. I believe in you and I am immensely proud of everything we have achieved together. I hope I can return one day, in a few years.”
