KTM will not leave MotoGP: confirmation has arrived from the official team itself.
Speculations about KTM potentially not participating in MotoGP 2025 have been ongoing. However, according to our sources and what has been reiterated by the Austrian company, the team will continue, both with the Factory team and the Tech3 team, to compete in the MotoGP next season, albeit with a 15% budget cut (though this budget is not linked to sporting expenses).
Today, however, several media outlets reported that KTM would leave MotoGP following the well-known bankruptcy from recent weeks. Why is that?
This is due to the fact that, in the insolvency filing presented today in court, one of the cost-cutting options was the “exit from MotoGP, Moto2, and Moto3.” However, this theory, as confirmed by both our investigations and the Austrian company, will remain just that: KTM will be there in 2025, effectively debunking the speculations from recent hours.
“Here to Stay” – KTM’s statement
2024 has been an extraordinary year for KTM, characterized by bold innovations, thrilling victories, and unwavering dedication to our customers. While challenges are part of any great journey, we see them as an opportunity to accelerate toward an even brighter future.
It is no secret that KTM AG is navigating a shifting economic landscape. However, as our READY TO RACE mantra suggests, we are embracing this moment to realign, refuel, and reinvigorate. KTM remains fully committed to delivering exceptional experiences to our current and future customers. We will continue to thrill and fight to return to the top of the podium.
Racing is where we show our brand, our engineering, and our passion for the chase.
Over the past year, our motorsport teams have continued to achieve great results. We started the season with an incredible total of 341 titles in the FIM World Championship. The global calendars saw more than 1,480 race starts, bringing us 246 podiums and 150 wins across various disciplines. Of course, there were also hardships and injuries — part of the game — but KTM impressively added 11 more titles to our already impressive record.
Off the track, the KTM brand has been extremely active this year.
We unveiled 59 new models, organized three international media events with 152 partners in attendance, hosted three customer events with 283 participants, and returned to EICMA, the world’s largest motorcycle show, with a massive 1,635 m² booth and 17 new KTM products.
Behind these new models, there has been a strong effort, as well as continuous action to maintain our momentum in the right directions. KTM is applying the same forward-thinking approach during this restructuring phase. Our goal over the next 90 days is to stabilize the business and build a foundation for long-term growth and success.
During this period, KTM guarantees the continuation of motorcycle deliveries through our Authorized KTM Dealer network.
The same applies to our spare parts, technical accessories, customer support, and warranties, which remain unchanged, ensuring constant and reliable support during this transition period.
Our work and desire to create ever more innovative, extreme, and adventurous motorcycles continues.
KTM is preparing to launch a series of highly anticipated models, which will be available in dealerships in the first quarter of 2025. This once again demonstrates our commitment to remaining one of Europe’s leading motorcycle manufacturers well into the future.
