Red Bull’s senior advisor, Helmut Marko, commented on Max Verstappen’s child: “It’s still premature.” And what a jab at Perez…
2024 is an extraordinary year for Max Verstappen: a victory on the track, with his fourth world championship title, and a victory off it, with his partner Kelly Piquet’s pregnancy. A phenomenal year: the Dutch driver is now ready to begin 2025 with a wonderful milestone, certainly different from the many achieved so far on the circuit.
Here are Helmut Marko’s words on the matter, joking about Max Verstappen becoming a father: “Recruit him into the Red Bull Junior Academy? It’s a bit far-fetched (laughs). But if the grandfather is a three-time world champion and the father a four-time world champion, then there should be some genetic potential.”
“But we still don’t know whether it will be a boy or a girl, which ultimately doesn’t matter. Fast women are also highly appreciated…”
“We are tackling the fifth title with Max. So far, we have secured four titles with Sebastian Vettel and Max, so the fifth seems particularly challenging. We also want to get back to completing our races with Red Bull’s usual efficiency and ease” , he continued.
Marko: “Constructors’ title? Lost because of Perez’s gap”
The Austrian senior advisor then commented on the loss of the constructors’ championship: “It’s a shame, it hurts. The decisive factor is that the gap between Max and Checo in the world championship is 282 points, while the gap among the competitors’ drivers is much smaller. This explains why we lost the constructors’ championship.”
