Hamilton’s Ferrari Debut: Vasseur Reveals a Key Detail About the First Drive

Last week, we reported that the seven-time world champion’s first outing is expected to take place between January 21 and 22. However, today Frederic Vasseur provided new details about Hamilton’s debut, revealing an important factor that will influence the timing.

Frederic Vasseur’s Comments

Ferrari’s team principal told the BBC that Hamilton’s first drive in a Ferrari will be heavily dependent on weather conditions. The event is expected to take place on one of Ferrari’s test tracks, with Fiorano and Mugello being the primary options (although Imola remains a possibility in exceptional circumstances).

“It won’t be easy, but he brings all his experience with him. He’s certainly not a first-year rookie, and that reassures me. Over the two days of testing, we’ll have to work through many procedures, but I’m confident his experience will be enough to handle everything smoothly” , Vasseur explained.

The team is also relying on the simulator to help Hamilton prepare: “We have the advantage of using the simulator, where he can complete race and qualifying simulations, familiarizing himself with the steering wheel and the car’s particular features. I’m not worried about this at all” , the team principal concluded.
