Yuki Tsunoda gave an interesting interview discussing Red Bull’s decision and his goals for the upcoming season.
Yuki Tsunoda hoped until the very end, but in the end, the Red Bull seat went to Liam Lawson. A few weeks ago, the Austrian team decided to let go of Sergio Perez (who had a forgettable 2024 season), preferring the New Zealand driver over the Japanese driver, who had performed well in previous seasons.
In the same interview, Tsunoda downplayed the situation, admitting that he feels a lot of trust from the team. These were his words: “I try to give fewer reasons to justify my exclusion. I focus on what I can control and accept the situation. I’m confident I can do better than they think. The communication on the radio has definitely improved. I’m calmer now, providing more detailed technical feedback and staying focused. I need to communicate more and in a more consistent way.”
The Japanese driver then added: “I don’t care what they say on social media because they don’t know what’s really going on. The important thing is what the team thinks, and I feel a great deal of support from them. They understand exactly what’s happening in each race and have always shown confidence. That’s what I appreciate the most.”
