Like Ferrari, the Grove team will also hold a dedicated event to unveil the Williams FW47 project at the Silverstone circuit on Valentine’s Day. Here are Carlos Sainz’s words!
The 2025 Formula 1 season – which will kick off at the Albert Park Circuit in Australia on March 14 – will be a milestone in the history of the sport as it marks the 75th season of Formula 1. This significant achievement will be celebrated through various initiatives promoted by the FOM. The season will get underway with an event at The O2 Arena in London on February 18, bringing together all ten teams of the Championship.
However, following in the footsteps of Scuderia Ferrari, which has decided to unveil only the race livery in London, while the 677 project will be revealed the next day in Maranello, Williams has also recently announced its intention to reveal the FW47 – the car that Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz will race in 2025 – in a dedicated event at the historic Silverstone circuit on February 14, Valentine’s Day.
“The FW47 will be unveiled to fans, partners, and media during a special event at the iconic Silverstone circuit, the venue of the first Formula 1 World Championship Grand Prix in 1950. Fans around the world will be able to follow the FW47 launch event on the Williams app and WilliamsF1.com,” reads the official statement from the British team.

James Vowles, Team Principal of the Grove-based team, has not hidden his enthusiasm for the season ahead, which begins in just over two months. He stated: “There are so many exciting things for Williams in 2025. We have fantastic drivers in Alex and Carlos, top-level engineers joining us from across the grid, and new facilities that will be operational at our Grove headquarters. Everyone in the team is giving their best to get this team back to where it deserves to be “.
It is clear that all the teams in the lower ranks are hoping to find redemption in the new Formula 1 season, following the conclusion of the 2024 season on December 8 in Abu Dhabi. Carlos Sainz – who will be competing in his first season with Williams – expressed confidence in the car engineered by Vowles to bring the team back to its glory days.
“I was very impressed with the team in Abu Dhabi. After a long year, it was great to see the motivation and commitment everyone put into such an important test. Thanks to that, we were able to put together a solid plan, and we’ve already started working on it to be as prepared as possible for the pre-season tests and the first race. The launch of the car at Silverstone is just around the corner, and I can’t wait to see my new car! 2025 will be an exciting year, and we are fully committed to putting together a strong season ,” said the Spanish driver.
Alex Albon, who is about to embark on his fourth season with the team, also praised the work being done at the Grove factory for the Williams FW47: “Everyone is working hard to prepare our car for the new season. The launch on February 14 should be a great way to start an important year for us as a team, fighting with both cars from the very beginning and looking at the opportunities that lie ahead in 2026. I can’t wait to see the results of the teamwork and dedication that make this team so special “.
