Finally, the time has come. Lewis Hamilton has arrived in Maranello, home of Scuderia Ferrari: here are the first images of him as a Ferrari driver.
The countdown, set almost a year ago, has now come to an end: the seven-time world champion has finally arrived at the headquarters of Scuderia Ferrari in Maranello, in Modena. As expected, Lewis Hamilton was anticipated at the Scuderia’s headquarters on the morning of Monday, January 20, for an initial official meeting with the team and engineers, including Riccardo Adami – the former track engineer of Carlos Sainz and Sebastian Vettel, whom Sir Lewis asked for an opinion about the new team member.
The Italian engineer will join the Briton in this new chapter of his career as a full-time driver for the team led by Fred Vasseur. Among the many farewells Hamilton had to face after parting ways with Toto Wolff’s camp after eleven years, one of them was with Peter Bonnington, simply known as Bono by Sir Lewis, who will now be supporting Andrea Kimi Antonelli in his debut Formula 1 season.
For his first day as a Ferrari driver, a seat-fitting test has been organized for Lewis Hamilton in preparation for his first on-track action at Fiorano, eagerly awaited by thousands of fans, and scheduled for Wednesday, January 22. Also today, a simulator session is planned, where Hamilton will be joined by his new teammate, Charles Leclerc.
