Three days of testing in Barcelona for the two Ferrari drivers at the wheel of the SF-23. The following week, Hamilton will also drive the SF-24 in the Pirelli tests.
The Italian outlet AutoRacer.it reported this morning that Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc are returning to the track behind the wheel of the SF-23, this time at the Montmelò circuit in Barcelona.
The two Ferrari drivers will therefore be protagonists on the Spanish track for a three-day TPC (Test Previous Cars) session from January 28 to 30, thus approaching the 1000 km allowed during the year by regulations. On Wednesday at the Fiorano track, 131 km were covered, 89 by Hamilton and 42 by Leclerc.
But the rumor doesn’t end here: in fact, according to what was reported by AutoRacer.it, the Maranello team will also participate in a two-day test session organized by Pirelli on February 4th and 5th, with the experimental tires that will be introduced in 2026.
The news is that Lewis Hamilton will not be behind the wheel of the SF-23, but rather the SF-24, as the FIA allows the use of newer cars for Pirelli tests, although it will need to be adapted to accommodate the different tires.
Subsequently, the next opportunity to see the seven-time world champion behind the wheel of the Red car will coincide with the start of pre-season testing in Bahrain, scheduled for February 26th, 27th, and 28th, 2025, before flying to Melbourne for the official start of his adventure with Ferrari.
