McLaren returned to triumph in the Constructors’ Championship after 26 years, and their stated goal for 2025 is to fight for the Drivers’ Championship as well. In an interview with the BBC, Lando Norris reflected on the upcoming season: “2024 was a year I was quite proud of my performances. I’m proud of doing well under more pressure. I made mistakes, that’s true, but at the same time, I learned a lot from them. We go into the next championship knowing we have the car and everything needed to win. The team stayed very focused, and after winning the title, instead of saying ‘let’s relax,’ everyone did the opposite—they said, ‘we want more,’ and they are working even harder to find more ways to succeed again this year.
The team has turned these expectations into something positive, with more motivation and drive to do it again. “As for me, while I want to win the Constructors’ every year, this time I also want the individual title, the Drivers’ Championship. To achieve that, you need a good team behind you, and I think that’s exactly what I have. Last year I came close, I was always chasing, but I could feel it. “
