Frederic Vasseur gave an interview to DAZN ahead of the new season, here are the words of Ferrari’s team principal.
Ferrari is in Barcelona for the testing week, where Leclerc and Hamilton will be driving on the Catalan track. Today, the Monegasque driver took to the track for the usual pre-season FIA event, where each team has 1000 km available, with the condition of using cars from previous years.
There’s a great sense of optimism at Ferrari, and the arrival of Lewis Hamilton has raised the bar even further towards a goal that has been missing for far too long. In this regard, Frederic Vasseur spoke to DAZN, analyzing the hectic weeks leading up to one of the most anticipated seasons in recent years.
Here are the words of Ferrari’s team principal, starting with his relationship with Lewis Hamilton: “He started with me, and it was the first time he raced with a French team in 2005, eventually winning 18 out of 21 races. He has great adaptability skills and also the advantage of veteran experience.”
Vasseur went on to add: “He will be able to collaborate easily with the team. The goal is to take another step forward, which will come as the season progresses, with the experience of seven championships and everything he’s done with Mercedes and McLaren. I’m sure he will help us grow even further. We’re talking about small steps; every piece that falls into place will be important for our future, and I’m convinced it will be a step forward for us.”
