Mercedes Team Principal, Toto Wolff, has once again discussed Lewis Hamilton’s potential move to Ferrari.
At Mercedes, a new era has begun with Andrea Kimi Antonelli, born in 2006, who will be George Russell’s teammate following Hamilton’s departure. The seven-time world champion’s move to Ferrari, after twelve seasons, marks the end of an era that was decorated with six world titles for the Briton and eight constructors’ championships for the German team.
The Mercedes team has turned the page and is now ready to start a new adventure with two undeniably talented drivers. Toto Wolff, Mercedes’ Team Principal, has once again spoken about Hamilton‘s departure and its consequences: “I think it was the right decision for both,” said Toto, before continuing: “I think when we see Lewis in his first appearances with Ferrari… the photo in front of Enzo Ferrari’s house is iconic. Lewis with his sense of style, and I told him that.”
The German team’s TP then added: “At the same time, we’ve embarked on a different path, trying to reinvent ourselves with a young driver, in addition to George, who doesn’t get mentioned enough. We have an experienced and established driver who has won races and a new guy coming in. Lewis has done something new, and I think it’s been a new beginning for both.”
