The construction and holding of the Madrid Grand Prix do not seem to be in doubt, as confirmation comes from Ben Sulayem.
The Madrid Grand Prix, scheduled to take place starting from next season, should not be at risk. Although construction has not yet started (expected to begin between April and May 2025), organizers and F1 are confident. The FIA President, Ben Sulayem, reassured everyone about the completion of the circuit and the event taking place.
The FIA president, during a press conference held in Jarama, also addressed the topic of the Madrid Grand Prix with the following statements: “We have a very limited calendar, but does Madrid deserve it? Of course, it deserves it ; we always say that innovation was born in Europe, and it is still in Europe. Formula 1 was born here, and innovation is still here. Would I like to see more countries? Yes. Formula 1 in Germany and France? Yes.”
Ben Sulayem then added: “When you go back to Madrid, you see this beautiful circuit, they deserve it; the FIA is working hand in hand with the circuit because communication is absolutely from the FIA. The calendar is also a topic we’ve discussed with the FOM and the promoter. We believe and agree that nothing can be added, but of course, there have been some changes. Madrid is favorable. Madrid will happen, I can say that, but the FIA will always have a role. The promoter comes and works side by side with the FIA. These are the real facts.”
