After a turbulent 2024, which ended with the victory of his fourth World Championship, Verstappen hopes to regain stability ahead of the new season
Max Verstappen is preparing for 2025 after his fourth World Championship win. Last year, the Dutch driver faced a challenging season in many aspects: in addition to external events, such as Newey’s departure and the controversies surrounding the Horner case, Norris proved to be a worthy rival in the title fight. For the first time in several years, Red Bull was not the most dominant car on the track, which pushed Verstappen to give his all to maintain his lead over the rivals and secure his fourth world title.
The words of Verstappen on 2025
Speaking to ESPN, Verstappen commented on the past season, emphasizing how it tested the entire Red Bull environment: “Last year was challenging in many ways. We had some fantastic moments but also difficult ones. I hope that in 2025 we can be more stable and consistent throughout the season“.
He then continued by talking about Lawson, who came from Racing Bulls after Red Bull‘s decision to part ways with Perez. The Dutch driver welcomed the arrival of the young New Zealander with enthusiasm: ” What excites me the most is seeing how competitive we will be. And then, of course, the new teammate. I’m happy to work with Liam, and I think the whole team is looking forward to tackling this new season. “.
Verstappen didn’t want to make predictions about the upcoming championship, preferring to keep a low profile despite the successes achieved in recent years: “Honestly, my mentality hasn’t changed. Obviously, winning four titles has been a dream come true, actually, more than a dream. But I’m calm. I’m curious to see how competitive we’ll be, and from there we’ll set our goals. For now, it’s too early to make predictions “.
