The Barcelona circuit will stay on the calendar until 2031. This news solidifies the Catalan circuit’s presence as a permanent fixture on the MotoGP calendar: since 1992, the first year Montmeló appeared in a MotoGP season, riders have raced in the Spanish city a total of thirty-four times.

The official statement was just released a few minutes ago on MotoGP’s official platforms.
Words from Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports
“We are pleased to sign this new agreement with the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The fans there have always experienced high-level weekends, with impressive attendance figures. The circuit is well-connected to Barcelona, one of the most culturally significant cities in the world. It’s a winning combination. We are excited to continue racing here.”
Words from Miquel Sàmper
The Minister of Business and Labor for the Government of Catalonia, as well as the president of the circuit, Miquel Sàmper, adds: “This agreement, which we are celebrating, strengthens Catalonia’s bond with motorsport, especially with motorcycle GPs, which started here over 30 years ago.
Securing MotoGP until 2031 is excellent for Catalonia’s image, as it hosts top international sporting events. In an increasingly global and competitive environment, our ability to maintain the circuit’s activities is an achievement we can be proud of.”
