Among them was also Andrea Kimi Antonelli, with a Mercedes that was more black than last season. The driver from Bologna, on the sidelines of the event held in the evening, spoke at the press conference, sharing his feelings as he looks forward to the start of his first season as an F1 driver.

These were Antonelli’s words: “I don’t think it’s correct to say that I’m his replacement. Hamilton has done so much for this sport. I simply consider myself the new Mercedes driver, and I want to make my own story in Formula 1. Racing for this team is a huge responsibility because we’re talking about a top-level team. At the same time, though, it’s an enormous opportunity. It’s a privilege to be here today, and I will do everything I can to make the most of this chance.”

The Italian then added: “It still feels strange to be here with so many great drivers. I’ll go on track with the mindset of someone who wants to win, but I’m also realistic – there are very strong opponents. But I’ll always fight and won’t hold back. I’ve never been to a concert, so it’s a special feeling to be here at the O2. But I don’t sing…”
