Hamilton in 360°: “If I won the title? It wouldn’t be the eighth, but the first with Ferrari.”

Lewis Hamilton shared his story in an interesting interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport. The seven-time world champion is eager to get back on the track.

Lewis Hamilton still finds himself pinching himself to fully grasp what’s happening, despite his incredible and legendary career. The seven-time world champion took to the track yesterday afternoon (in Fiorano) to test the SF-25 in front of a crowd filled with excitement and cheering for both the Englishman and Charles Leclerc.

Hamilton in 360°: “If I won the title? It wouldn’t be the eighth, but the first with Ferrari.”

Emotions running high, to put it mildly, for Lewis Hamilton, who shared his feelings and expectations for the upcoming season in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport. Here are his words: “It’s too early to know how it will go; we know it will be a very tight season between the top teams. I’m adapting to a new way of working, and the goal is to be ready for the first race. But of course, we haven’t yet been on track with our competitors, so we can’t know their level.”

Hamilton then added: “It’s not about winning the eighth title; for me, it would be the first, my first World Championship with Ferrari. It would mean making history with this team. If I were fortunate enough to win another title, which is of course what we’re working towards, I don’t see myself ready to retire.”

Talking about his relationship with Leclerc, he said: “We have a great relationship, and I consider him a very strong driver. Many years ago in Bahrain, I said he had a bright future ahead. Today, Charles is only 27 and very mature for his age, probably more mature than I was at 27. He’s very professional, well integrated into the team, and obviously very well-liked. It won’t be easy to beat him, but we’ll work together to ensure the team moves in the right direction.”

Lewis’ adventure with Ferrari is also allowing him to study Italian. After his speech in Maranello, he approached the Italian language again with a short video to greet the fans: “For many years, I’ve dreamed of learning another language, but for the English, it’s not easy because we’re not really obligated to. But I want people to know that I care, that I’m really willing to do everything to integrate. It’s a tough challenge, but I enjoy being in the factory in Maranello because I can practice every day.”
