Today, Mercedes unveiled the car with which it will compete in the 2025 Formula 1 season.
After revealing its livery last week, Mercedes presented (this afternoon) the car that will participate in the 2025 Formula 1 season. The W16, with its interesting design, will be in the hands of George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli, with the Italian making his debut in the world’s top motorsport competition.

The team captain will obviously be Russell, who, following the presentation of the new Mercedes, made some interesting statements. Here are the words of the British driver: “I feel that 2024 was my best year in Formula 1. Next season will be my seventh in this sport and my fourth with the official Mercedes team, and I’m working hard to improve year after year.
As a team, we are incredibly motivated to do better than last season. There is a great energy in the factories of Brackley and Brixworth, so I can’t wait to get on track. It’s also exciting to have a new teammate this year, like Kimi. He is incredibly fast, and I think we will form a great partnership. Of course, he has a lot to learn in his first season, but I want to help him, and I’m looking forward to working together to move the team forward.”.
Talking about the upcoming season, Russell then added: “Whoever continues to develop will probably win the championship, but will pay the consequences in 2026. Of course, in the last year of regulations, the situation gets tighter. I still expect McLaren to be ahead, considering how dominant they were in the second half of 2024.”
