The Red Bull Team Principal spoke at the Red Bull filming day, discussing the 2026 season.

The first day of Formula 1 testing has concluded, with the expected performance values being confirmed. McLaren led the pack, followed by Red Bull, Mercedes, and Ferrari. Of course, we are still at the dawn of a season that promises to be competitive and tight, given the minimal gaps between the teams during testing and the crucial role that developments will play.

Chris Horner is also certain of this, as he shared his thoughts on the new season following Red Bull‘s recent testing in Bahrain. Here are his words: “We are at the end of this regulatory cycle, and it’s clear that the cars are converging and seem to be very similar. Perhaps Ferrari stands out for how it has differentiated itself from the others. As for the rest, the other cars are somewhat converging, and this will make the races very competitive this year, to the point that we’ll see some cars perform better on certain circuits and others that will go strong on different tracks. Maybe we’ll have eight different winners this year and some very open races. It will all come down to extracting the maximum potential from your package and being able to express it on track.” .”

Horner then added: “In reality, every small surface of our car is different compared to last year’s. If they look similar, it’s because the underlying philosophy is similar. We had to improve some of the characteristics of the 2024 car, and the team worked hard on these aspects throughout the winter. However, we must not forget that we still won nine races and four sprints with last year’s car. So, the starting point for development was still decent. The competition is, however, very tight as we saw last year, and the cars all look very similar. It will be a competitive season right from the first race.” .”
