Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton spoke to the press after the first day of testing in Bahrain.
The first day of testing wrapped up with Lando Norris taking the top spot, finishing ahead of everyone after the unprecedented nine hours of testing in Bahrain (one additional hour due to the afternoon blackout). It was a lot of work for the teams, including Ferrari, which, according to experts, seems to be the most revolutionary compared to its direct competitors.
Hamilton drove in the morning, completing 70 laps, while Leclerc hit the track in the afternoon, completing 71 laps and working on race pace with some interesting times. Tomorrow’s schedule will follow the same pattern as today, with both drivers having already shared their initial thoughts with the press.
Here are the words from the two Ferrari drivers, starting with Leclerc: “It’s great to be back on track. The entire team put in maximum effort on the SF-25 project during the winter break, so it’s exciting to finally start pushing with the car. As for today, it’s always positive to have a smooth session, without any unpleasant surprises that could affect the work plan. That being said, it’s still too early to draw conclusions about our performance. We’ll analyze the data from today thoroughly and use what we’ve learned this evening when we resume work tomorrow. “.
Hamilton shared the same mindset: “Tests are always interesting: for the first time, you get to see what the different teams have developed, and you can start getting familiar with the car and the season ahead. “Being here with Ferrari and getting into the SF-25 is an incredible feeling. Our program is about trying different things, gathering as much data as possible, and getting familiar with the car, and today we’ve already learned a lot. It’s too early to truly understand the absolute values. Everything seems to be going in the right direction, and as a team, we’re working on the best way to optimize every stint on track. There’s still a lot to do in the coming days to complete our program and understand the car to the best of our ability, and I can’t wait to get back on track tomorrow”.
