Here comes the official Aprilia statement on the world champion’s condition: Martin will miss the first race of the season
It’s a nightmare start to the season for Jorge Martin. The Spanish rider has suffered two injuries even before the Buriram GP, which will kick off the new season: after the fall during the Sepang tests, the current world champion was involved in another incident during a training session.

The news, which had initially leaked through a rumor in the Spanish newspaper Marca, was later confirmed by the Noale-based manufacturer, who, in an official statement released yesterday, stated:
“Jorge Martin sustained a complex fracture of the radius, some carpal bones, and a homolateral calcaneal fracture during training.
After a surgical consultation, it was decided to proceed with surgery, which will take place tomorrow at the Dexeus Clinic in Barcelona to stabilize the fractures of the radius and left scaphoid. Martin will miss the Thailand Grand Prix, and the recovery times will be determined after the surgery. Lorenzo Savadori will race in Thailand in his place.”
