Ferrari, Leclerc: “Everyone is hiding, Hamilton has a driving style very similar to mine.”

Charles Leclerc commented on what happened during the second day of testing, as he worked on race pace trials.

Charles Leclerc took to the track in the afternoon for the second day of testing at the Bahrain circuit. Ferrari was more consistent compared to what was seen yesterday, with the Monegasque completing a series of important laps, although still far from the monstrous race pace simulation of McLaren’s Lando Norris.

Everything is still in progress since we’re talking about testing, and Leclerc himself confirmed this during the press session. These are Charles’ words: ” All teams and all drivers always feel they could be world champions at the start of the year. In our case, this winter has gone really well, and we’ve definitely had a big marketing boost, but the team has stayed focused. The car? I felt good, but obviously, for now, there’s no need to get carried away. It’s just testing, and everyone is hiding. We’re testing our things, but the feeling is quite good. There haven’t been any bad surprises, which is a good thing, but it’s too early to judge the performance.” .”

Leclerc then added: “We’ve also learned a lot by seeing how it worked in other teams when he had success. And it was really exciting to see how happy and enthusiastic he was to be here. Driving style? I’m surprised at how similar it is to mine. We both like to push a lot, especially when entering a corner, and that’s positive because it requires the same behavior from the car. As a team, that’s always positive because we will definitely push in the same direction and are working very well together. Since the beginning of the year, we’ve spent a lot of time together. Less on the track and more in the studio for photos, which isn’t the part we enjoy most, but it’s still part of the job. Now, I can’t wait to race with him and I hope to bring Ferrari back to the top.”

And finally, a comment on the somewhat shadowy winter, considering Lewis’s arrival at Ferrari: “This winter, I’ve been a bit in the shadows… But I had fun. I could focus more on myself, and I’m pushing as hard as I can to be ready for the first race. Now, I can’t wait for it to come, hoping to start the season in a more positive way than last year.” .”
