Manu Gonzalez takes pole position, with Vietti and Canet performing well. Disaster for David Alonso and Tony Arbolino, who are OUT of Q2.
Three Italians in the first row across both Moto2 and Moto3. After Matteo Bertelle’s pole and Stefano Nepa’s second place, Celestino Vietti also secures a spot in the first row. However, a brilliant Manu Gonzalez takes the pole with a time of 1:34.634, just 36 thousandths of a second ahead of the Italian rider from the SpeedUp Racing team.
Closing out the first row is Aron Canet, who sets the third-fastest time of the day. It was a positive qualifying session for Fantic Racing, which also secured a fifth-place finish with Belgian rider Barry Baltus.
A surprising performance came from Darryn Binder, who dominated Q1 and managed to grab the last spot on the second row for tomorrow’s race.
Disappointing results for Tony Arbolino and David Alonso, who both fail to advance to Q2. The Italian rider will start from 20th position. As for the former Moto3 World Champion, it seems he’s still not fully recovered from the shoulder dislocation last month. In his Moto2 debut, he will have to settle for a 25th position on the starting grid.
