MotoGP Thailand: MARQUEZ WINS, 1-2 for the brothers! Bagnaia finishes 3rd

Marc Marquez takes victory in the Sunday MotoGP race in Thailand! Joining him on the podium are his brother Alex and Pecco Bagnaia

After yesterday’s Sprint, dominated by Marc Marquez, the number 93 wraps up a truly perfect weekend: the Spaniard also wins the main race, securing the full 25 points and collecting a total of 37 over his first weekend in red.

The order remains unchanged from Saturday: Alex Marquez finishes second, and Pecco Bagnaia takes third, with Alex even leading the race for a few laps after Marc briefly slowed down.

Behind them, an excellent Morbidelli finishes 4th, followed by a brilliant Ogura in 5th, and then Bezzecchi, Zarco, Binder, Bastianini, and Di Giannantonio rounding out the top 10.

Race Highlights

THE START – Marc Marquez immediately pulls away, while Alex and Bagnaia make contact at Turn 1! The top four stay the same as in the Sprint: another great launch from Ogura, right behind Pecco Bagnaia.

Acosta crashes on lap 4, as Morbidelli overtakes Ogura with a strong move to take fourth place.

A surprising moment on lap 8: Marc Marquez appears to have an issue, slows down, and lets his brother Alex through (WATCH the video here), then tucks in behind him to chase. The number 93 sticks to number 73, with Bagnaia staying close behind. By lap 12, the top three are all lapping in the 1:31.3 range, while Morbidelli is even faster with a 1:31.1. The Italo-Brazilian is having a fantastic race in fourth, followed by Ogura, Miller, and Fernandez.

Joan Mir crashes out at Turn 12, a real shame for the Spaniard, who was battling for seventh—a result that would have been a much-needed boost for Honda after last season’s struggles.

Bezzecchi is also having a strong race, climbing to sixth as he closes in on rookie Ogura, while Quartararo finds himself all the way down in 17th.

With five laps to go, Alex Marquez has a big wobble, but Marc holds off on making a move. However, two laps later, in the final corner, Marc goes for it—overtaking his brother and claiming his first win in red.
