Cardile to Aston Martin: Court blocks the move, ruling in Ferrari’s favor

Just minutes ago, Ferrari officially commented on the intricate Cardile case, alleging a clear violation of the mandatory “gardening leave” period that Formula 1 enforces when engineers switch teams.

Ferrari stated: “Regarding recent reports on the timing of Enrico Cardile’s arrival at Aston Martin, Ferrari clarifies that a few weeks ago, the Modena Court upheld the company’s claims, ordering Enrico Cardile to immediately cease any form of collaboration with the Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team until July 18.

This is no minor accusation, as Ferrari has directly pointed the finger at Lawrence Stroll and Aston Martin for breaching regulations: “In this urgent legal phase, the Modena Court found that our former employee was already violating his non-compete agreement with Ferrari. The purpose of this clause was precisely to prevent other F1 teams from gaining an unfair competitive advantage by hiring Cardile ahead of schedule, thereby causing irreparable damage to Ferrari”.
A response from the British team is now highly anticipated.
