Joanne Ciconte is the seventeenth driver of eighteen to be confirmed for the 2025 F1 Academy season. The Australian driver will make her debut with MP Motorsport.
With the announcement of Joanne Ciconte’s entry, the second Australian rookie to join the upcoming F1 Academy season, there remains one final spot open with Rodin Motorsport – the only team yet to confirm its line-up – to complete the roster of drivers who will take to the track in the third edition of the all-female series. The 16-year-old will join MP Motorsport, alongside fellow debutante Alba Larsen and Maya Weug, who will be in her final F1 Academy season according to the regulations.
The 2008-born driver expressed her excitement about this new opportunity: “I’m proud to be joining the F1 ACADEMY series with MP Motorsport. Racing in front of large crowds and Formula 1 stars during Grand Prix weekends is a dream come true, and being able to do that with such an experienced team like MP Motorsport is all I could wish for. I’m really looking forward to starting with the first test to fine-tune the car and our cooperation, and can’t wait to begin my first race in Shanghai .”
