The Italian manager has set the goals for Alpine, which appeared quite competitive during this year’s tests.

Flavio Briatore’s arrival at Alpine has brought a breath of fresh air and novelty to the French team. There have been many changes since the Italian manager joined, with the first results achieved in the second half of last season, including, most notably, the double podium earned at the Brazilian Grand Prix in Interlagos.

The goal of the French team is to return to the top in 2026, so much so that Gasly himself confirmed that most of the budget cap will be invested in the next season, the one with the regulatory changes. Echoing the French driver’s words, Flavio Briatore has outlined Alpine’s next objectives.

These are the words of the former Renault team principal: “In 2026, we will have the Mercedes engine, and in the meantime, we will need to bring in more people with experience to our team. It’s like with Benetton; people said it was a joke because we were just a t-shirt manufacturer, but after we started winning a few races, everyone wanted to join the team. People began to pay attention. The same happened with Renault. If everyone works together, I believe that in 2026 it’s possible to win races and in 2027 fight for the championship.”
