Alongside Formula 1, the junior category will also kick off this weekend. Let’s take a look at the WEATHER and SCHEDULE for F2 in Australia!
Only seven days remain before the cars hit the track once again. However, at Albert Park, it won’t just be Formula 1 stealing the show. Formula 2, the feeder series to the pinnacle of four-wheel motorsport, will also be in action.
The Melbourne Circuit
The Albert Park Circuit hosts both the Formula 1 and Formula 2 Australian Grands Prix in Melbourne. The track winds around the scenic Albert Park Lake, blending public roads with dedicated racing sections. At approximately 5.3 km long with 14 corners, the circuit is known for its high-speed nature and technical layout, offering a mix of fast corners and heavy braking zones.
Although it is a semi-permanent circuit, the asphalt tends to be slippery during the first sessions, as the roads are used daily by regular traffic.
In 2022, the circuit underwent changes to enhance racing spectacle, including the removal of the chicane between Turns 9 and 10. However, this year, further modifications have been made, particularly redesigning some run-off areas between Turns 6 and 7 due to safety concerns raised in 2024.
