The Italian tire manufacturer expands its presence in the world of motorsport: it will also supply MotoGP and MotoE.
Revolution in MotoGP: After eleven years, Michelin will no longer be the official tire supplier for the premier class of motorcycle racing. The decision is believed to stem from Dorna’s desire to have a single tire supplier for the entire paddock.

Pirelli dominates motorsport
Currently, Pirelli supplies tires for Moto2 and Moto3, but starting in 2027, it will replace Michelin as the tire supplier for both MotoGP and MotoE. This tire change will coincide with the upcoming regulation changes in the world championship.
With this agreement, the details of which are still being finalized, the Italian company will become a true pillar of motorsport. In addition to being the exclusive and official tire supplier for the WorldSBK championship and Formula 1, Formula 2, and Formula 3 championships, the acquisition of the monopoly over MotoGP and MotoE will complete Pirelli’s presence in both automobile and motorcycle racing.
Michelin will remain the sole supplier for the current season and next, until the end of 2026.
