After winning his first karting championship at just 9 years old, with a triumph in the rain, Robin Raikkonen has had a slight setback due to an injury to his left arm while racing in a WSK Championship karting event.
The details are still unknown, but a post shared by his mother Minttu on her Instagram profile is quite telling. In it, Robin is seen with a cast on his left arm. The caption reads: “Final result of a WSK race. No rules, no penalties, and many dangerous things happen.”
These words from Kimi Raikkonen’s wife highlight a problem in the world of karting, regarding safety conditions in races for young drivers.
Robin Raikkonen, born in 2015, has already shown great talent in karting, winning the Swiss Rotax Max Challenge in the Micro Max category. This year, Robin is competing in the WSK Championship in the MINI U10 category, achieving second and third place at the Sarno circuit, and a fourth place at the weekend event in Franciacorta, in the province of Brescia.
