It’s pole position for Matteo Bertelle at the Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit! Completing the front row are Piqueras and Yamanaka.
Rain in Argentina during the Moto3 qualifying, but Matteo Bertelle dominates the Argentine circuit! The rider, number 18, starts from Q1 and secures the first position, advancing to the next round. In the second part of qualifying, the rain eased, and the times dropped by more than a second.
Matteo Bertelle posted a lap time of 1:46.034, setting a new track record and earning a well-deserved pole position.
Behind him, the two MT Helmets riders, with Piqueras (2nd) and Yamanaka (3rd), claim the front row during the final time attack. The Red Bull KTM Ajo riders Carpe and Rueda finish in fifth and sixth positions, respectively. Eighth place goes to Kelso, with the Australian facing a double long lap penalty for an incident with Piqueras in Thailand.
Lunetta and Pini are out in Q1: the two Italians will start from 22nd and 23rd positions, respectively. There’s also a penalty for David Muñoz, who will begin the Sunday race from the pit lane due to a contact with Luca Lunetta under yellow flag conditions during the Thai GP.
