Ferrari, Hamilton tenth at the finish line: “This is not our true potential.”

Hamilton’s first race with Ferrari didn’t go as the Briton had hoped, finishing in tenth place.

A tough start for Lewis Hamilton, who ended his first race with Ferrari in tenth place. The seven-time world champion, starting from eighth position, struggled for most of the Grand Prix with Albon, barely managing to challenge the Williams driver. The arrival of rain allowed Lewis to climb up to second place, but then, due to the team’s wrong strategy, he finished in tenth place.

Ferrari, Hamilton tenth at the finish line: “This is not our true potential.”

Hamilton himself, during the post-race press conference with the media, tried to analyze clearly what happened in the crazy Melbourne race He said: “It was one of the toughest days. Facing these conditions for the first time in the rain, with a new car, a different power unit, new functions on the steering wheel, and new communications with the engineers, it was a huge challenge. It’s a shame because I was hoping for a better result, and I fought as hard as I could.

At one point, we were fighting for the podium, but with the arrival of the rain, the situation got worse. We couldn’t get the car into the right performance window. I don’t think the level shown today reflects our true potential, either in qualifying or the race. We just couldn’t extract the maximum from it.”
