No Sunday race for the Portuguese rider after the incident with Fermin Aldeguer: here are the words from the Pramac team.
More bad luck for Miguel Oliveira. In yesterday’s Sprint Race, rider number 88 was involved in an incident caused by Fermin Aldeguer: the Pramac rider was literally hit by the MotoGP rookie’s bike, crashing violently into the gravel.
Oliveira was immediately taken to the hospital, but fortunately, despite the violent impact, he did not suffer any fractures. However, his entire body is quite sore, also due to a large hematoma in the sternoclavicular area. After the night, the result was clear: Oliveira will not take part in today’s race.
The decision from the Pramac team
The news was shared just a few minutes ago through a post on Instagram by Oliveira and the Pramac team. These are the words that accompanied the decision: “After consulting his doctor at home, due to the crash sustained at the beginning of the Sprint Race yesterday at Termas de Rio Hondo, it has been decided that Miguel Oliveira will not take part in today’s Argentina GP.”
Miguel will fly to Portugal today to undergo further evaluations on his left shoulder and sternum, with the hope of being able to return to action for the Americas GP in two weeks at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin.
