Moto2 in Argentina: Dixon Wins, Gonzalez 2nd. Vietti Also on the Podium

Jake Dixon races solo at Termas de Rio Hondo: no one is as fast as him! Italian Celestino Vietti also makes it onto the podium.

Jake Dixon WINS! The number 96 rider from the Elf Marc VDS Racing Team has a whole other pace compared to the others: the Brit takes the lead from the start, and no one is able to catch him. Joining him on the podium are Gonzalez (2nd) and Vietti (3rd). It’s also a great day for Canet, despite a painful shoulder: the French rider, after a hard-fought race, finishes in fourth.

Race Summary:

THE START – Dixon has a great start: the Brit immediately takes the lead, ahead of Manu Gonzalez. Aron Canet is also aggressive, with the Frenchman gaining five positions on the first lap, moving behind Ramirez (4th). But the most spectacular move comes from Izan Guevara, who makes an impressive leap forward, gaining eleven positions. On the other hand, Escrig has a complete disaster and loses ten positions after turn 1.

Six laps in, Diogo Moreira brings his bike back to the box, only to rejoin as a lapped rider. Meanwhile, Dixon pulls away with a one-second lead over Manu Gonzalez and begins to make his final push, with Aron Canet in third.

By the halfway point, in the fight for fourth, Filip Salac crashes. In the fall, the former Gresini rider hits Marcos Ramirez’s bike: the rider from the OnlyFans American Racing Team stays on but loses his fender and two positions. The Czech rider will be investigated after the race and may face a penalty for the Americas GP.

Celestino Vietti fights back, passing Aron Canet to move into third place, but the battle between the two isn’t over, and the Spaniard soon reclaims his spot. The back-and-forth continues for the final podium spot, with Ramirez closing in. At the end of the race, it’s the Italian rider who secures the bronze medal, finishing behind Dixon and Gonzalez.
