Marc Marquez sets a record in Argentina: here are all the achievements of the Spaniard over the weekend

We are only at the beginning of the season, but rider number 93 is setting record after record: here’s a summary of his Argentine weekend.

Marc Marquez arrived in Argentina as a favorite… and left even more titled than before. The eight-time world champion was already the king of the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit and, after another nearly perfect weekend, reaffirms once again that he is the rider to fear.

Marquez continues to be the only rider to have won on this track more than once in the premier class of the MotoGP World Championship: the consistency of number 93 once again beats the unpredictability of the Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit. In nine editions, Marc has climbed to the top step of the podium five times (in particular, four full races and one Sprint Race).

After Thailand, the Ducati Lenovo Team rider continues to dominate: in addition to the 12 points earned on Saturday, he added another 25 on Sunday. Thus, once again, the rider from Cervera returns home with a full haul, leading the general classification with a 16-point advantage over his brother Alex, who has been the only one to give him a bit of a challenge so far.

Marc Marquez, in the first two weekends of the MotoGP, has also achieved the so-called “hat-trick,” meaning pole position, fastest lap, and victory. No one in the last thirty years has started the world championship as perfectly as he has: the last to achieve the same success was Michael Doohan in 1995. This definitely shows the power and speed of one of the strongest riders of all time: number 93, now also with the support of Ducati, could return to his former glory.

However, the celebrations did not end there: yesterday, Marquez officially became the third rider in history, tied with Angel Nieto, for the most Grand Prix victories in the MotoGP. Ahead of him in the all-time ranking are Giacomo Agostini with 122 wins and Valentino Rossi with 115, while Marc is chasing them with 90 first-place finishes.
