Max Verstappen spoke to the press ahead of the Shanghai race, with the Dutchman coming off a second-place finish in Melbourne.
A decidedly positive start to the season for Max Verstappen, who, after expressing doubts and concerns about the new Red Bull RB21, has once again proven himself as a four-time world champion by securing a second place that, after the first free practice session, seemed light-years away. Now, it’s back to the track for the Chinese Grand Prix, and Super Max already knows what Red Bull can and needs to improve..

In the usual press meeting, Verstappen analyzed his performance in Melbourne, focusing his attention on the high tire degradation shown by the Red Bull in Melbourne— a factor that allowed McLaren to have a strong race pace throughout the entire GP.
These are Verstappen‘s words: “It’s great to be back on track, I really enjoyed the weekend in Australia. The team learned a lot, and in the end, I’m happy with second place, but we can still improve a lot. Tire degradation hurt us particularly in Melbourne, but we collected data to understand how to improve.
China will be the first Sprint weekend of the season, so we’ll need to have the best setup to score as many points as possible. There’s not much time to test, with just one free practice session, but the team is working hard. I’ve always enjoyed racing in Shanghai; there are many overtaking opportunities, and the track is unique. We’ll see what this weekend brings.”
