Frederic Vasseur is confident that the Melbourne race was just an unfortunate exception and that the SF-25 is competitive.
Ferrari arrived at the first race of the season in Melbourne with a lot of enthusiasm and high expectations. However, the Australian weekend told a different story, with the Scuderia struggling in qualifying and never being a real contender in the race, with Charles Leclerc finishing in eighth and Lewis Hamilton in tenth, partly due to a less-than-perfect strategy.

Frederic Vasseur, ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix, spoke to the press, expressing confidence and explaining that the race in Australia was just an unfortunate blip to move past. These were the Frenchman’s words: “We’re happy to be back on track so soon after the Australian Grand Prix because the Shanghai race gives us the chance to immediately turn the page. The Chinese track has completely different characteristics from Albert Park, and this race, being the first Sprint weekend of the season, offers even more points up for grabs.”
The first Sprint weekend and a completely different circuit compared to Australia will be just two of the factors that could bring out the best in the SF-25, at least according to Vasseur. His comments on the matter were as follows: “From a technical standpoint, it will be important to have prepared well for the weekend on the Maranello simulator, as, as usual, we’ll have only one hour of free practice, which should be partly used to familiarize ourselves with the completely new surface of Shanghai. As a team, we’ll pay attention to every little detail to maximize the potential of the SF-25, supporting Charles and Lewis in the best possible way, as they’ve always enjoyed this track.”
