Lewis Hamilton has responded to criticism about his attitude toward Riccardo Adami: “I didn’t say f*** off! You’re exaggerating.”
As the Shanghai weekend approaches, Lewis Hamilton addressed the media to put an end to the controversy stemming from the Australian Grand Prix. The new SF-25 fell short of expectations, despite the high ambitions surrounding it and the arrival of the seven-time world champion.

Hamilton reiterated that Mercedes has moved past its tough start to the season and dismissed any speculation about tension with his new race engineer, Riccardo Adami.
Lewis Hamilton’s Words
Following some heated radio exchanges in Melbourne, many speculated about friction between the two. However, Hamilton firmly shut down those rumors: “It was just a back-and-forth. I said, ‘Let me handle it, please.’ I didn’t insult anyone, I didn’t swear, I didn’t say ‘f*** off.’ At that moment, I was focusing on a few things with the car, and direct communication is completely normal in racing.”
The Briton also pointed out how such exchanges are a natural part of motorsport and criticized the double standards in media coverage: “Go listen to other drivers’ team radios. The exchanges Max had with his engineer Lambiase over the years? No one talks about them. But a simple discussion between me and Riccardo becomes a big deal. We’re just getting to know each other, that’s all.”

Hamilton concluded with a clear message: “After the race, I told him, ‘Brother, I don’t need that information at that moment, but if you want to give it to me, here’s the best time to do it.’ It’s all normal. We work with a smile and move forward.”
So, is the case closed? Judging by Hamilton’s words, absolutely. And considering the circumstances, maybe it should never have been opened in the first place.
