First points of the season for Bearman, earned at the end of a remarkable comeback from 17th place.

With this team radio, Bearman wanted to highlight his experience and intelligence in the two maneuvers he executed, despite his rookie status. In both overtakes, the young English driver for Haas pulled alongside on the long straight leading to Turn 14, braked earlier than his rivals, and gained the position with a switchback move.

The funny exchange between Bearman and Ocon after the race

After Haas’s triumphant race, unexpectedly earning 14 points thanks to the disqualification of the two Ferraris, Ollie Bearman and Esteban Ocon were interviewed together by Formula 1 microphones. Bearman jokingly said, “Now I feel really bad for saying ‘ciao!'”

“I overtook someone and then said ‘ciao.’ I did it twice, at Turn 14. With a Red Bull and an Alpine.” ,” explained the English driver to Ocon. “I want to see it!” replied his teammate, amused by Ollie’s embarrassment.

Positive signs for Haas this weekend, as they return home with 14 crucial points for the Constructors’ Championship standings.
