At the Circuit of The Americas, many riders have already won a race, but no one has ever repeated the feat more than once. Last year, it was Sergio Garcia who took the first place. However, the Spaniard will be absent from this Grand Prix due to a fracture in his right hand. He will be replaced by Oscar Gutierrez, as in previous races.

Other Moto2 riders who have already triumphed at COTA include Tony Arbolino and Sam Lowes in the same category, while David Alonso, Ivan Ortola, Izan Guevara, and Aron Canet have won in Moto3.
