Sebastian Vettel, interviewed by the BBC, did not hide his support for Lewis Hamilton this season.

season Ferrari has certainly not started off well, to put it mildly. The double disqualification in China only worsened technical issues already present within the SF-25, despite Lewis Hamilton‘s two standout performances on Saturday in Shanghai, with a pole in the sprint and a race victory with a significant gap over his direct competitors.

The seven-time world champion has a special fan in the paddock, and his name is Sebastian Vettel. Sebastian Vettel. The two, who have been part of many on-track battles, have never hidden their mutual admiration, and Seb, in an interview with the BBC, made the following comments: “I think Lewis is a very competitive person, with very high expectations of himself. I think he is very ambitious to be in that seat right now and he’s not so focused on the noise around him, but more on making things work. Things didn’t work out for me because Lewis was there, but let’s see what he can do. We’ve raced together for a long time, there’s a lot of understanding between us, and he’s the most genuine driver on the grid. There’s no need for me to list his abilities.”

The German then added: “His numbers speak for themselves. It’s nice that he’s still on the grid and is using his influence in a positive way. I cross my fingers for him to win the championship, but there’s also Charles, with whom I raced. I think it’s a competitive lineup, and to be there in the last two races and fight for the title, a lot of things need to come together. It will be an intense battle, and no one is excluded. We’ll see.”
