Number 93 certainly doesn’t lack genius: here’s the VIDEO of one of the most iconic scenes in MotoGP, where the Spanish rider was the protagonist.
The bond between COTA (Circuit of the Americas) and Marc Marquez is unbreakable, for better or worse. The eight-time world champion dominated the American circuit for seven editions: no one has been as dominant as him on this track, especially considering its relatively recent creation (in 2012).
The Spanish rider, however, has always been at the forefront with Honda, the motorcycle brand he has been a part of since his debut in the premier class, and which has relied on him for eleven seasons. After his injury and the subsequent relapses, which have heavily affected the last years of Marquez’s career, the MotoGP legend seems to be returning to his prime with Ducati this year.
The absolute dominance he has shown so far, combined with his past results at the Circuit of the Americas, makes him the favorite for this weekend’s race.
Austin 2015: What happened to Marquez
It was the third year in which MotoGP raced at Austin, and in both of the previous editions, Marquez had taken the victory. However, at the end of Q2, the Spanish rider found himself in trouble: his Honda’s engine started making strange noises, until the bike completely stopped on the main straight, just as he was about to start his flying lap.

Cool-headed and a genius, the Cervera rider made an unexpected move: he leaned his bike against the wall, climbed over it, and ran to the pit lane to take the second bike and give it one last shot with just 3 minutes remaining in the session.
Incredible but true: the session ended with… pole position!
