Debut at the wheel of a Formula 1 car for the young Swedish driver of the FDA.
Dino Beganovic, a 21-year-old driver from the Ferrari Driver Academy, will take part in the first Free Practice session in Bahrain on Friday, April 11th, driving the SF-25 in place of Charles Leclerc. For the young Swedish driver, a member of the FDA since 2020, it will mark his debut in an official Formula 1 session.
Dino Beganovic will therefore be the fifth driver from the Ferrari Driver Academy to drive a Ferrari car in a session, following Charles Leclerc and Ollie Bearman, currently full-time Formula 1 drivers, and Robert Shwartzman and Arthur Leclerc, who have only participated in free practice sessions.

Ferrari is thus getting ahead in the program set by the FIA, because starting from the 2025 season, each driver will have to give up their seat in FP1 twice to a driver with fewer than two Formula 1 races, effectively doubling the number compared to the 2024 season.

Dino Beganovic in Ferrari: the official statement!
Here is the official statement from Scuderia Ferrari HP, released this morning: “Dino Beganovic is ready for a busy weekend in Bahrain: the Swedish driver born in 2004 from the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy, of which he has been a member since 2020, will be competing in Formula 2 in the second round of the championship with the Hitech Grand Prix team’s car. He will also make his debut in an official Formula 1 session when he takes the wheel of Charles Leclerc’s SF-25 during the first free practice session. Dino will benefit from the FIA regulation, which requires each full-time driver – starting this year – to give up their seat twice during the season to a young driver with fewer than two races in Formula 1.”
