Ferrari, Vasseur believes in the SF-25: ‘I’m sure we didn’t get the car wrong.’

Frederic Vasseur believes in the quality of the SF-25 project, meanwhile, in Suzuka, Ferrari will bring a new floor.

A very difficult start to the season for Ferrari, which is coming off a double disqualification at the Chinese Grand Prix. This was a historic event, as in F1 history, no two Ferraris had ever been excluded from a race simultaneously due to irregularities. The weight issue of Leclerc‘s car and the worn floor of Hamilton’s car rendered a fifth and sixth place finish completely meaningless.

The difficulties presented by the SF-25 are proving to be more numerous than expected, but Vasseur remains calm, confirming the quality of the 677 project. Here are his statements on the matter: ‘I don’t need to be reassured by pole positions in Sprint Qualifying and Sprint race wins; I can clearly see that the car is not wrong, and the numbers prove it. To win, you have to get as close as possible to your potential and the limit, whether that means leaving nothing on the table in terms of the car’s weight or a meter of braking.

In the last four races of 2024, there have been four different winners, each one giving half a lap to the others, yet no one brought upgrades, we were all very close, but just a small difference can make a big impact, and of course, this also involves the types of tracks and temperatures. It’s no longer about potential, but about extracting the potential. Seven seconds of advantage after a third of the race was probably the greatest show of dominance among the races that have been held so far.’”
