Superpole Race SBK at Portimão: Razgatlioglu wins again, followed by Bulega

The Turkish rider sends a clear and strong message to his competitors: the number one is back.

The Superpole Race of the WorldSBK has come to an end, with a fierce battle between Razgatlioglu and Bulega, who crossed the finish line almost simultaneously, with only 55 thousandths of a second separating them. However, it’s the Turkish rider who takes the 12 points today, showing that he seems to be back to his form from last year.

Completing the podium is a spectacular Alvaro Bautista, who made a strong comeback, recovering 6 positions and securing a spot on the front row for Race 2. Behind him are Petrucci (4th), Locatelli (5th), and Sam Lowes (6th).

Race Summary:

The Start – Once again, Bulega blasts off and immediately takes the lead, with Petrucci and Razgatlioglu following closely behind. The Turkish rider takes the leader’s tail at the start of the second lap. Alvaro Bautista also has an excellent start, gaining four positions to move into fifth, chasing Locatelli. On the other hand, Van der Mark and Montella have some issues, finding themselves in ninth and sixteenth positions, respectively.

With six laps to go, the number one rider manages to pass and pull away from his opponent by three-tenths of a second. Meanwhile, Sofoglu and Mackenzie both crash. Bulega attempts to catch up with Toprak, but the BMW rider doesn’t let him pass. Behind them, Bautista and Petrucci are engaged in a fight for the podium.

At 3:00 PM, another 25 points are up for grabs in Race 2.
